The Andromeda Galaxy and the human body share 97% of the same kind of atoms

The human race has always sought answers to ultimate questions like how did it all begin? How did we come into existence? How did the laws of nature come into existence? Are we alone in this vast cosmos? Stuff like this is what differentiates us from other species, curiosity and a zest to learn, to know the hidden meaning behind how the world works. In earlier times, people turned to religion to answer these kinds of questions and the answer was more or less the same- that everything is a creation of God. It gave people comfort and faith to believe in a single all-powerful creator but it also made them ignorant.

Over the years as science developed and human race started to unfold the mysteries behind many physical phenomena, it made people believe that there are ways in which our universe can be defined other than leaving it in the hands of God, but the more they tried to find answers, the more problems arrived and when no solution came to mind they had to leave it to the belief of a mystical creator. Even then, people have not given up on science because it provides symmetry to the universe, through it, we understand the connection between us and the cosmic energy. The more we explore and understand the universe, the more we discover about ourselves. Everyone in the world is special not because they are different but because we are same, we are built of the same elements as stars, planets and galaxies. The discovery of the laws of nature have been mankind’s greatest achievement, for these laws tell us that we don’t need a God to explain the universe at all, the laws are a description of how things work from the past to the present and the future.

The same laws that apply to the flight of a football as it is going towards goal also apply to the motion of a planet and everything else in this universe Unlike laws made by humans these laws are constant, and cannot be broken that is why these laws are so powerful as well as contradictory to the idea of God. One could define God as a personification of these laws. The study of these laws is the noblest thing to do, through these laws we have reached the plank length as well as numbers like the Googleplex. We have witnessed quark-gluon interactions that build the basis for all atomic particles and we have seen the heart of a black hole that is a million times our own Sun. We have discovered the depths of oceans and we have sent probes to the edge of the solar system, we have used these laws to provide us with energy and we have used the same energy to make bombs and destroy millions of lives. The development of laws of science has its advantages and disadvantages but the more we discover the hidden cosmos the more we come closer to finding answers to the ultimate questions, it is not an option to ignore science but it is a necessity to apply it for the betterment of mankind.
